Join a newly formed med-tech company as they build the HR function from the ground up in preparation of an upcoming divestiture & acquisition. Venture capital backed with flexibility to move fast and create impact as the new CEO builds the executive team. You’ll partner closely with the HR leader to stand up core HR operations, drive a high-volume hiring ramp, and shape the culture as they grow. You’ll serve as an HR business partner handling things like talent mgmt., leadership support, employee relations, recruiting, system implementation and benefits. The HR Business Partner will provide both strategic and hands-on HR support across the full employee lifecycle, serving as a core HR resource for R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams. This role blends HR operations, systems management, benefits administration, and employee relations with strategic partnership and workforce planning. Worksite Location: Remote/Hybrid with periodic travel to Madison, Wisconsin site for collaboration with HR Leader

Salary Range: $100K – $130K base salary + up to 10% bonus potential

Benefits: New employees are eligible for benefits beginning on their first day of employment, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and a 401(k) plan with company match. In February, the organization will transition to an updated benefits program that will include at minimum two medical plan options (PPO and HSA), dental and vision coverage, STD/LTD, life insurance, and continued 401(k) offerings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage HR operations including HRIS administration (UKG preferred), reporting, audits, and data accuracy
  • Lead benefits administration, leave programs, and vendor coordination to ensure compliance and service quality
  • Support full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for all hiring needs, ensuring a smooth candidate and new-hire experience
  • Partner with leaders on organizational design, performance development, coaching, and workforce planning
  • Resolve employee relations issues with professionalism, confidentiality, and alignment to company values
  • Drive culture, engagement, DE&I, and communication efforts through feedback tools, pulse surveys, and proactive initiatives
  • Support HR process improvements, policy consistency, and operational excellence across the organization
  • Provide HR guidance in a regulated environment, ensuring compliance with employment law and internal procedures

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (HR certification preferred)
  • 5+ years of HR experience, ideally within a regulated, technical, or life sciences environment
  • Strong understanding of benefits administration, HR operations, and employment law
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms (UKG Ready strongly preferred) and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to coach managers, resolve issues, and build strong partnerships across all levels
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to move quickly, execute decisively, and support a scaling organization
