As the Interim Compensation Consultant, you will assess current compensation plans for business unit leaders and provide recommendations to enhance motivation and alignment with organizational goals. The consultant may also assist with sales team compensation strategy and structure. This is a hands-on, advisory role requiring expertise in compensation design, communication, and plan implementation in smaller or mid-sized organizations.

Worksite Location: Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid.

Salary Range: Hourly rate between $70–$80, DOE.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Review current compensation plans for leadership and identify gaps or opportunities for improvement

• Develop recommendations for incentive and performance-based compensation plans

• Advise leadership on rollout strategy, communication, and employee engagement

• Support sales team compensation structure and design if capacity allows

• Translate job competencies into fair and motivating compensation programs

• Ensure alignment of compensation plans with business objectives and company culture

• Guide best practices in small or mid-sized company compensation management

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience designing and implementing compensation plans

• Expertise in job evaluation, competencies, and translating roles into compensation strategy

• Strong consultative and communication skills to partner with leadership

• Experience in smaller or mid-sized companies preferred

• Bonus: Manufacturing/distribution or sales compensation experience

• Familiarity with ADP and manual compensation processes a plus

• Ability to quickly assess current practices, provide actionable recommendations, and drive plan rollout
