As the Interim HR Generalist, you will serve as the go-to HR resource, supporting employees, leaders, and the executive team. Responsibilities will include onboarding/offboarding, payroll coordination through Paychex, employee relations, leave management, and open enrollment support. Flexibility and independence are key, as this role involves balancing HR duties within a small yet impactful organization.

Worksite Location: Hybrid – Flexible part-time hours (15–25 per week). Office located just northeast of Minneapolis, MN.

Salary Range: Hourly rate between $35-$40, DOE.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes
Provide employee support for benefits and open enrollment
Coordinate with Paychex (PEO) on payroll and benefits administration
Approve payroll and ensure timely processing
Handle tier-one employee relations issues and escalate as needed
Support vendor relationships and benefits broker coordination
Assist with leave management, including potential medical leave
Provide light recruitment support for open roles, if needed

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven HR Generalist experience with the ability to work independently
Strong problem-solving and resourcefulness
Familiarity with payroll/benefits systems (Paychex preferred)
Comfort handling employee relations and leave management
Flexible and open to variable part-time (15–25 hours weekly)
Union experience is a plus, but not required
