The MN Paid Leave Consultant will lead the development and implementation of policies, processes, and communication materials related to PFML. This includes drafting and refining policy language, designing administrative workflows for leave management, and creating clear, user-friendly resources for employees and student workers. The role also involves coordinating with internal HR partners and external vendors to ensure smooth execution and compliance with state requirements.

Worksite Location: Hybrid - St. Paul, MN area.

Salary Range: Hourly rate between $50–$60, DOE.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Draft and finalize MN Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) policy language for employee and student handbooks

• Develop administrative processes for managing leave top-ups, reimbursements, and approvals

• Review and update parental leave policy to align with PFML requirements

• Evaluate and enhance website content for clarity, accessibility, and accuracy

• Create short, engaging training videos to educate employees on PFML processes

• Collaborate with HR partners and external vendors as needed

• Provide recommendations for compliance in other applicable states

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience developing and implementing leave policies (including MN PFML is a plus)

• Strong understanding of compliance and administrative processes related to paid leave

• Exceptional writing and communication skills for policy and training development

• Ability to manage project timelines and deliverables independently

• Experience in higher education, public sector, or nonprofit settings preferred

• Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a consulting environment
