Location: Minneapolis, 4 days on-site in a western suburb (remote Fridays)
Salary: $155 - $165k

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer who can bridge the gap between business objectives and technology execution. In this role, you will collaborate with business, product, and engineering teams to transform complex challenges into scalable, high-impact solutions while providing technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
Roles & Responsibilities: 
  • Partner with product leaders, business analysts, stakeholders, and engineering teams to understand business challenges and define desired outcomes.
  • Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions, evaluating alternatives, tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, and assumptions.
  • Provide effort estimates, document technical considerations, and develop prototypes or proof-of-concepts to reduce uncertainty and validate approaches.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions while guiding implementation efforts across the development team.
  • Lead technical discussions and decision-making, collaborating with architects and cross-functional engineering teams when broader alignment is needed.
  • Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, and tradeoffs effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with DevOps and platform teams to support successful deployment, operation, and monitoring of applications across multiple environments.
  • Apply engineering best practices, coding standards, and operational insights to improve quality, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce complexity, and leverage technologies, including AI and emerging capabilities, to improve efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Support agile delivery practices and help teams consistently deliver value while maintaining alignment with broader organizational goals.
Key Experience:
  • 4+ years of team leadership
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience (C#, .Net Core & React)
  • Data Modeling and Application Modeling – will create the models for the team to follow

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong expertise in modern software architecture, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and software engineering best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • .NET Framework and .NET Core
    • C#
    • JavaScript
    • React
    • PostgreSQL
    • SQL Server
    • Microservices Architecture
    • Event-Driven Architecture
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership, influence decisions, and guide teams toward effective and scalable solutions.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand organizational processes and translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex software engineering initiatives from design through delivery.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
