The Senior Property Accountant will oversee accounting and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of Class-A industrial and commercial properties across multiple markets. This role ensures accurate and timely financials, leads continuous process improvements, and partners closely with property management and asset management teams to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and motivated by career growth within a fast-scaling real estate organization.

Worksite Location: Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid Opportunity; seeking Minneapolis-based candidates.

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close for assigned property portfolio, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements and ad hoc reporting to the Controller and Asset Management team.

  • Oversee property budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Ensure accurate CAM reconciliations, escrow analyses, and annual reporting.

  • Maintain general ledgers and property-level financial accuracy across multiple markets.

  • Partner closely with property management and asset management to support operational and financial decision-making.

  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, reporting timeliness, and data quality.

  • Support external audits, tax preparation, and lender reporting requirements.

  • Assist with onboarding new assets and ensuring proper accounting setup.

  • Contribute to a culture grounded in integrity, teamwork, and community-minded development.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 1–3+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate accounting.

  • Strong understanding of CAM, GL maintenance, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.

  • Proficiency with property management/accounting systems (Yardi preferred but not required).

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across a fast-growing property portfolio.

  • High attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to accuracy.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner cross-functionally.
