Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for managing the subsidiaries finance and accounting practices in accordance with group direction, either personally or through subordinates.

Worksite Location:This hybrid position is in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.  Currently, the team works on-site four days a week
 
Salary Range: $70k - $95k/yr base salary plus holiday bonus

Roles & Responsibilities:  
  • Manages many aspects of finance and accounting, with responsibility for general ledger, fixed asset register, accounts payable ledger, to include budgeting and evaluating
  • Manages a number of traders portfolios with respect to the Job Costing and Inventory
  • Prepares timely and accurate financial information and analysis for the US business for Group; presents information to local management
  • Assists in the production of the monthly management accounts and supports the preparations for the audit, supplying information to allow the timely, accurate and cost-effective preparation of financial accounts and tax computations
  • Monitors accounts payable accounting staff and their work to ensure that the subsidiary ledger of accounts payable is accurate, current and risk controlled
  • Monitors the general ledger, fixed asset register, job costing and inventory to ensure that these subsidiary ledgers are also accurate, current and risk controlled
  • Reports to Controller and /or CFO any risk or non compliance issues, in all areas of business operation
  • Processes confidential documents including financial statements
  • Has the ability to contribute to the finance function as a member of the team within a fast paced entrepreneurial environment that has grown very quickly and has a very flexible culture that is not accustomed to rigidity or formalities
Required Skills & Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 to 7 years of progressive experience in the Accounting/Finance field
  • CPA desired, but not required
  • Experience with accounting & ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O advantageous)
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • International accounting experience is a plus
  • Strong internal control experience desired
  • Some flexibility to travel, when necessary
