You'll leverage your GAAP expertise, attention to detail, and analytical skills to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and operational excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The Senior Accountant will manage all aspects of customer Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, cash receipts, collections, and reconciliations, while supporting other accounting functions, projects, and process improvements. This role oversees approximately 100 industrial accounts with complex, milestone-based billing and plays a key part in our client's rapid growth, requiring strong GAAP knowledge, contract revenue recognition expertise, and exceptional attention to detail.

Worksite Location: This role is located in the Northwest Suburbs of the Twin Cities, MN.

Salary: $85k - $105k/yr. base salary

Roles & Responsibilities:  

  • Manage Accounts Receivable invoicing, communication, and collections with minimal oversight
  • Establish effective communication with customers and follow any customer-required invoice submission processes to ensure timely cash generation
  • Apply cash receipts, resolve payment discrepancies, and maintain customer account accuracy
  • Complete daily cash reporting and weekly cash reconciliations; support cash flow forecasting
  • Perform proactive collections calls and follow-ups to ensure timely payments, partner with Sales and Project Management to support collections issues
  • Perform AR account reconciliations, aging analysis; analysis and recommendation of bad debt reserves
  • Support month-end close processes and reporting, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Support potential system upgrades and process automation initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of customer financial data

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience
  • ERP experience required; Epicor experience preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
