Senior Commercial Financial Analyst
Our client is seeking a Senior Commercial Financial Analyst to provide financial insight and decision support across pricing, profitability, and broader commercial initiatives. This role will partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership to evaluate business performance, identify margin opportunities, and develop recommendations that support profitable growth. In addition to strategic analysis, the position will play an important role in strengthening pricing administration, reporting, data management, and governance processes. The ideal candidate combines strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities with the business acumen and communication skills needed to influence decisions across the organization.
Worksite Location: Minneapolis–St. Paul, MN
Salary Range: $110k - $140k base salary plus annual bonus potential

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Analyze revenue, gross margin, profitability, and overall business performance across customers, products, categories, channels, and business segments
• Build financial models, forecasts, and what-if scenarios to evaluate pricing, margin, profitability, and growth opportunities
• Assess the financial impact and ROI of customer programs, commercial investments, pricing initiatives, and strategic opportunities
• Support annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and other strategic finance initiatives
• Maintain pricing information within ERP and related systems and execute approved pricing updates
• Monitor pricing data accuracy and identify opportunities to strengthen controls, workflows, and governance
• Partner with Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve pricing issues and ensure timely implementation of pricing decisions
• Develop and evaluate pricing strategies designed to balance revenue growth, competitive positioning, and margin objectives
• Lead pricing reviews and facilitate pricing decisions across customer segments and product categories
• Analyze customer, product, category, and channel profitability to identify opportunities for improved financial performance
• Monitor pricing effectiveness and recommend adjustments based on business results and profitability targets
• Conduct competitive pricing and market analysis, incorporating market trends, supplier cost changes, and industry dynamics into recommendations
• Serve as a trusted finance partner to Sales and Product Management on pricing, profitability, customer investments, and growth initiatives
• Support significant customer negotiations by providing financial analysis, modeling, and pricing recommendations
• Prepare executive-level reporting and communicate key findings, business cases, and recommendations to senior leadership
• Develop dashboards, KPI reporting, profitability analyses, and other tools that improve visibility into commercial performance
• Partner with IT and business teams to enhance reporting systems, automation, data quality, and business intelligence capabilities
• Help establish scalable pricing, profitability, and reporting processes that support the organization's continued growth
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Analytics, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial finance, financial analysis, pricing, FP&A, revenue management, business analytics, or a related discipline
• Strong experience with financial modeling, profitability analysis, pricing analytics, and business decision support
• Demonstrated understanding of pricing strategy, margin management, and commercial financial performance
• Experience with pricing administration, ERP pricing structures, or master data management preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
• Experience with ERP systems and analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations
• Proven ability to build relationships with business leaders and influence decisions through fact-based financial analysis
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively communicate recommendations to senior leadership
• Comfortable balancing tactical responsibilities with longer-term strategic initiatives in a changing business environment
