The Senior Mechanical Engineer will design structures and bussing for switchgear, panel boards, and electrical power distribution equipment to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operation of products. Our clients' products are custom-engineered electrical systems; these products should exceed the company's quality, production standards, and customer expectations in terms of documentation and delivery timelines.

Salary: $115,000 - $140,000/year DOE.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Design mechanical structures and enclosures for complex systems that include relays, bussing, wire cabling, switchgear, LV and HV power, and automation and controls hardware, complying with applicable codes and customer specifications within a project management structure to ensure workflow remains within schedule and budget requirements.
Evaluate and select mechanical components and fabrication parts for bussing systems, switchgear, panelboards, and control panels.
Review and interpret customer specifications and sales agreements. Support the creation of product and project quotes.
Provide project coordination and management for customer orders.
Establish and maintain internal, customer, and supplier relationships.
Work to continuously improve the design process using standardized practices, tools, and systems; improve the quality and productivity of the design(s) and support process while reducing schedule and budget.
Support product assembly, manufacturing, testing, and field service.
Look to collaborate on developing best practices and efficiencies in the design processes.
Mentor and coach other Mechanical Engineers.
Up to 10% travel.

Required Skills and Experience:

BSME
Experience designing multi-input electrical control systems and enclosures
Experience using 3D CAD tools
Experience supporting manufacturing is a plus
Experience designing custom products is a plus
