We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise IT infrastructure. This hands-on technical resource will ensure the performance, security, and reliability of our on-premises and cloud systems while mentoring junior team members and driving automation and process improvements. Worksite Location: This is an onsite position, 5 days a week, in Eagan, MN. Not a remote or hybrid position.
Pay Range:
- $100-130K/yr salary

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert troubleshooting and guidance.
- Administer Active Directory, Linux systems, some Windows servers, and virtualization tools like VMware and Hyper-V.
- Design, deploy, and manage servers, virtualization platforms, storage, networking, and cloud systems (Azure/AWS).
- Maintain secure, high-performing hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem and cloud).
- Automate administrative tasks using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Monitor and support network infrastructure to resolve connectivity and performance issues.
- Develop and enforce IT best practices, security standards, and operational procedures.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
- Contribute to IT strategy by evaluating and recommending emerging technologies.
- Ensure systems meet cybersecurity standards and data protection compliance.
- Lead infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
- As needed, assist in configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure optimal network performance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure solutions with business goals.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and architecture.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of systems administration/engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong expertise in Linux operating systems, solid experience supporting Windows systems, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience designing and implementing complex infrastructure and cloud solutions.
Preferred:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
- CompTIA Network+ or Security+
- VMware or AWS/Azure Certifications
