We are seeking a player/coach Senior Windows System Administrator with strong PowerShell scripting/automation and virtualization skills who thrives in a leadership-through-action role. This position blends technical depth with mentoring responsibility—ideal for someone eager to guide peers while remaining actively involved in complex systems work.
Worksite Location: Hybrid; after the 60-day in-office onboarding and training period, 2 days are in the office, and 3 days can be remote. All of the following are office location options for the successful candidate.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Serve as the team's primary escalation point and technical lead, while still contributing directly to daily operational tasks.
- Manage infrastructure performance by routinely evaluating logs, running diagnostics, and overseeing scheduled automation tasks.
- Develop and refine advanced PowerShell scripts to enhance system automation and efficiency.
- Plan, implement, and fine-tune server environments, including hardware, OS configurations, and software platforms.
- Support and maintain Active Directory and related directory services in a hybrid enterprise setting.
- Document configurations, deployment processes, and recovery procedures clearly and thoroughly.
- Assist with infrastructure strategy and project planning, offering hands-on input during implementation phases.
- Investigate and vet new technologies, identifying ways they may enhance or integrate with current systems.
- Guide integration efforts for new platforms or upgrades to existing ones, ensuring seamless operation.
- Collaborate in the creation and refinement of IT governance documents, performance metrics, and operational standards.
- Oversee enterprise security tools, ensuring defenses remain strong and up to date.
- Manage system patching cycles and verify audit-readiness of systems and processes.
- Participate in compliance efforts and resolve technical items flagged during audits.
- Take on other responsibilities as needed in support of the broader IS team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in technology or equivalent field experience.
- 7+ years in information systems or infrastructure administration (minimum of 5 considered for exceptional candidates).
- Strong scripting background with a focus on PowerShell, including custom scripts used in real-world deployments.
- Familiarity with enterprise cloud and on-prem hybrid ecosystems.
- Deep experience with Microsoft Windows Server platforms (2016 or newer).
- Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Proven ability to manage SAN environments and understand related storage architecture.
- Exposure to Microsoft cloud tools like Intune, Azure, Office 365, and Entra, with an understanding of how they interconnect.
- Experience conducting e-discovery in Exchange or similar messaging platforms.
- Must be approachable, collaborative, and a natural problem solver—able to work closely with peers and contribute constructively in team settings.
- Prior experience as a senior team resource—mentoring, advising, and supporting junior colleagues without having direct people management responsibilities.
