Sr. HR Generalist

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, visible on the production floor, and deeply involved in employee relations, HR operations, and culture-building within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Sr. Human Resource Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations while partnering closely with leaders to ensure consistent application of policies, strong employee relations, and compliance with employment laws. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employees and leaders and plays an important role in supporting culture, workforce needs, and operational goals. The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, and comfortable balancing employee advocacy with business partnership.

Worksite Location: Onsite – Elk River, MN

Salary Range: $100,000-$115,000

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees, leads, supervisors, and managers
  • Provide guidance on attendance, PTO, corrective action, performance management, and workplace conduct
  • Support employee relations activities including investigations, conflict resolution, coaching, and disciplinary actions
  • Conduct and support new hire orientation and onboarding, while supporting hourly and salaried recruiting efforts, including coordination with staffing agencies
  • Administer HRIS transactions such as new hires, terminations, job changes, PTO, benefits administration, and leave tracking
  • Support payroll-related audits, timekeeping accuracy, and weekly staffing agency reports
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (ESST, FMLA, ADA, wage & hour)
  • Support consistent application of policies, handbook guidelines, and policy updates
  • Assist with training initiatives, performance review processes, and documentation
  • Support employee engagement activities, recognition efforts, and company events
  • Reinforce company values, safety expectations, and a respectful, inclusive workplace culture

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Comfort working onsite and regularly present on the production floor
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
