Versique FAQ's
Prior to each search engagement, we spend ample time with our clients to ensure we recruit the very best talent for each and every role. During this process, we gather critical information including our client’s culture, personality, pace, as well as the hiring manager’s personality and leadership style, and then finally, the specific skill-sets and experiences needed. Once we establish all criteria for the search – both hard and soft skills – we start our recruiting process. This determines who we reach out to for a particular opportunity and helps us to determine who will be the best fit for our clients.

-1. Q: What areas does Versique recruit for?
A: Versique offers search and consulting services in eight practice areas, each led by a seasoned Practice Director. Our clients typically look to hire manager-level to C-level positions. For that reason, we do not often place candidates with less than 3 years of experience.
-2. Q: “Do I, as a potential candidate looking for a new job, need to pay a recruiter to work with me?”
A: No, you do not need to pay any fees. Our clients compensate us to find the best talent. We are a 3rd party resource hired on behalf of our clients to assist with the selection and hiring process. Think of us an extension of an organization’s Human Resources or Talent Acquisition department – as well as an extension of your personal network.
-3. Q: “I’m looking to make a career change; can a recruiter help me find a position?”
A: Our clients often partner with us to find candidates and consultants who are highly skilled in their specific industry or type of role. For that reason, the majority of our positions are best for candidates who are experienced in their area of expertise, rather than those who are looking to gain experience in a new career.
-4. Q: “I’ve been a consultant for a number of years and now am looking to work full time for a company, can you help me?”
A: Yes, let’s have a conversation. Typically our clients look to hire individuals who have worked in a similar industry or type of company as theirs, and/or who have a good track record of using the skill set the role requires.
-5. Q: “My resume is perfect for this job, why haven’t I gotten called by the recruiter?”
A: If you have submitted your resume, but have not heard back from our recruiters, it’s likely because they have found another candidate or consultant who’s skill-set and experience is better aligned for the role. Once our recruiters have your resume, they will keep you in mind for future career opportunities.
-6. Q: “I met with a recruiter a month ago, why haven’t they called me since?”
A: Timing is absolutely everything in our business. We may meet with you in anticipation of a role we will be working on, or perhaps you have an incredible background that we know our clients will look for in the future. We place positions based on the needs of our clients, therefore the timing of hires is based on our client companies.
-7. Q: “If I submit my resume to your website or for a specific job posting, when can I expect to hear back from a recruiter?”
A: When you submit your resume via our website or for a specific posting, it is directed to the appropriate recruiter within Versique. We do our best to reach out via phone and/or email within one week of receiving an application.
-9. Q: If I have applied to a position online (through the client company's website) can you still represent me?
A: Unfortunately, if you have already presented your information to the client company, or are being represented by another recruiter, we are unable to represent you for that specific role.
-10. Q: “I live out of state, but am looking to move back to MN for family/personal reasons. Does Versique work with candidates from other geographical areas?”
A: While Versique does not offer relocation assistance, we do partner with local clients who are willing to consider talent outside of the Minneapolis/St. Paul market from time to time. Depending on the client, urgency of the hire, and your personal timeline for returning to MN, we may be able to represent you for opportunities here in Minnesota while you reside elsewhere.
