Versique’s CPG Division Hires Industry Veteran, Experiences Continued Growth
October 13, 2015 — Versique’s CPG (consumer packaged goods) executive recruiting division continues to grow with the hire of two new recruiters, whose CPG experience brings the team to a total of 38 years. Industry veteran Jennifer Britton leads the division with more than 19 years of CPG experience herself, including roles such as vice president of business development and NAM (national account manager), calling on top retailers such as Target, Best Buy, and Supervalu, while working for companies such as Colgate Palmolive, Crayola, and Bristol Meyers Squibb.
The team recently hired James Schneider, also a CPG industry veteran, with more than 15 years of CPG experience in roles such as National Account Director, National Account Manager, and Category Manager, calling on large retailers including Target, Best Buy, and SuperValu.
Prior to hiring Schneider, Versique hired Abby Wilkinson with four years of Target Corporate human resources experience, working directly with executives and senior leadership.
“Having direct knowledge of what it’s like to work at Target, and at consumer packaged goods companies, we have developed unique industry insight that allows us to partner with our CPG clients across the U.S.,” said Britton. “Our experience working ‘behind-the curtain’, allows us to quickly align the needs of our clients and candidates.”
Versique’s clients range from manufacturers to manufacturers rep firms to data and marketing companies that sell products or services into large retailers such as Target, Best Buy, and SuperValu. These firms also work with smaller companies throughout the country. The Versique team fills roles within these companies ranging from National Account Managers (NAM) and Category Managers, to Director of Operations and VP of Sales.
“When people ask me what companies and roles fall within the CPG industry, I tell them – if you bounced a ball down a retail store aisle and thought about what it would hit – the products on the shelves, the marketing designs on the end-caps, the data analytics that go into tracking sales results, and more, all of these elements are produced by companies in the CPG industry,” said Britton. “CPG roles can range from the people selling the products into the retailers, to the marketers designing the signage, to the data people who track and project sales results.”
The Versique CPG team anticipates continued growth over the next couple of years. The firm’s clients find it refreshing to work with recruiters who know their industry and have personally held many of the roles they are looking to hire.
