Job Description:
We are seeking an IT Manager to oversee and optimize our IT infrastructure and Cyber Security resilience to achieve and modernize our established enterprise environment. This role is focused on the optimization and stabilization of a mature infrastructure stack. You will be responsible for extracting maximum value from our legacy systems while strategically integrating cloud efficiencies where they make the most sense. The ideal candidate excels at "tuning the engine"—improving performance, reducing technical debt, and ensuring our foundational systems are rock-solid.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Optimization: Oversee and refine existing on-premises data centers, optimize our hybrid environment (Azure being the primary public cloud utilized) to improve performance and lifespan and reduce TCO.
- MSP/MSSP Coordination & Governance: Act as the primary on-site liaison between the company and the external MSP/MSSP teams. Coordinate handoffs, escalations, and shared responsibilities across infrastructure, cloud, network, and security operations. Participate in governance meetings, service reviews, and KPI reporting cycles.
- Network Refinement: Oversee the maintenance and security of complex, multi-site network topologies, focusing on latency reduction and hardware lifecycle management and improve resiliency.
- Operational Excellence: Standardize ITIL processes, including change management and incident response, to minimize downtime in high-stakes environments. Focus on end user support and experience improvements
- Cost Control & Efficiency: Rationalize existing vendor contracts and software licensing to ensure the highest ROI on historical technology investments.
- Risk Mitigation: Ensure robust Backup and Disaster Recovery (BDR) protocols are tested and effective for aging hardware and proprietary legacy systems.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the local point of contact for business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and expectation management.
Key Skills & Experience Must Haves:
- Initiative to take proactive action on items; won't be told what to do - need someone who is self-driven
- Experience with EPIC or other EHR system and associated integrations
- Strong IT generalist with an ability to dig in, diagnose, and solve problems
Location: Minneapolis, MN (onsite)
Salary: Up to $130k + bonus

Required Qualifications
| Experience | Bachelor’s degree in engineering or adjacent. 12+ years in IT, with a proven track record of managing enterprise-scale legacy environments. 3+ years managing people |
| Systems | Deep experience with Windows/Linux Server environments and legacy database management and cloud systems vendor selection and cost optimization in a Hybrid env |
| Networking | Strong background in traditional switching/routing and vendor selection and monitoring |
| Optimization | Demonstrated ability to reduce OpEx through system tuning and vendor negotiation. |
| Cyber Security | Experience with CS frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, etc.) and CS as a service model to help select the correct offerings and ongoing service monitoring to support the business. Act as an internal technical lead for incident response; own technical Business continuity/ Disaster Recovery plans for company IT |
| Experience with Providers | Experience with Managed service providers, control/KPI management, escalations, |
| Helpdesk | Manage and guide internal end-user support team with proper ITIL processes implemented and provide KPI reports to management as needed |
