Senior Accounting Manager (MPC)
The Senior Accounting Manager will play a critical leadership role within the finance team, overseeing technical accounting, government contract compliance, and financial reporting accuracy. This role requires strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, FAR, and CAS regulations, along with experience operating in a federal contracting environment. The position will lead general ledger oversight, month-end close, compliance reporting, audit preparation, and internal control development while partnering cross-functionally to support the company’s continued growth and operational scale.

Salary Range: $145K – $165K/yr. base salary (DOE) + equity

Roles & Responsibilities:
· Lead technical accounting research and application of U.S. GAAP, FAR, and CAS standards
· Prepare and document technical accounting memos for complex transactions
· Oversee accounting for government contracts, including cost-reimbursable and fixed-price contracts
· Manage indirect rate structures and monitor cost pools for compliance with CAS
· Oversee General Ledger and Balance Sheet integrity to ensure accuracy and completeness
· Lead month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and cash accuracy
· Prepare financial statements and DCAA-compliant schedules
· Ensure compliance with federal reporting requirements, including incurred cost submissions
· Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting and federal cost principles
· Partner with auditors and manage annual audit process
· Supervise billing, revenue recognition, and cost allocations under government contracts
· Identify and implement process improvements in collaboration with finance leadership
· Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to accounting staff
Required Skills & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
· CPA required
· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including government contracting
· Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, FAR, CAS, and federal reporting requirements
· Experience preparing DCAA audit-ready documentation
· Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar preferred)
· Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
· Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities
· Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, scaling environment
Preferred Qualifications:
· Public accounting experience
· Experience within a manufacturing or technology-driven organization
· Experience in a sponsor-backed or high-growth company
