VP, Controller (ID:45220)
We have exclusively partnered with a medical manufacturer in the West metro for their next VP, Controller. The opportunity to join a leadership group tasked with transforming the finance and accounting teams and driving the Company's growth provides tremendous upside.

This exciting role is responsible for overseeing, preparing, analyzing, and distributing the Company's consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, statements of operations, cash flow statements, and statements of stockholders' equity. Manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, including variance analysis, to ensure accurate, timely, and relevant financial reporting.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic accounting and financial leadership as a key member of the management leadership team, contributing to the organization's overall accounting and financial strategy and success. 
  • Collaborate with other department heads to align accounting and financial strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Oversee the general ledger and all accounting functions and systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate financial accounts.
  • Manage the coordination of the month-end closing process and ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly in a timely manner.
  • Manage the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation and filing of financial statements with the SEC, lenders, and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure transparent, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
  • Establish and maintain a robust system of internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley's requirements to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance internal control processes to adapt to the organization's evolving needs and regulatory environment.
  • Manage the coordination and completion of the annual SOX 404 audit process.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex accounting issues, ensuring proper application of accounting standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of emerging accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on the organization, providing guidance to executive leadership.
  • Build and lead a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting career growth and succession planning.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making processes, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and drive key business initiatives.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement and promote a progressive quality culture.
  • Successfully attain performance period accountabilities established by the employee and their supervisor.
  • Successfully attain budget/business objectives.
  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Comply with regulatory and industry standards.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and compliance within publicly traded companies.
  • Proven leadership experience with a strong record of building and managing highperforming teams.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Manufacturing industry experience in a standard costing environment is preferred.
