Our client is seeking an Interim Payroll and HRIS Manager who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll and HRIS functions during a busy period. This includes salary planning, open enrollment, year-end processes, and more!

Worksite Location: Golden Valley, MN– Hybrid Opportunity; Seeking Minnesota / Twin Cities based candidate only.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process for approximately 1,000 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage all aspects of payroll administration, including processing new hires, terminations, garnishments, staff member referrals, importing deductions, and handling workflow changes.

  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure alignment and accuracy of payroll data, including reconciliations, reporting, and auditing.

  • Lead the implementation and integration of payroll and HRIS changes related to the transition to an ESOP, ensuring seamless functionality and user experience.

  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to support payroll and HRIS operations.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on payroll-related matters, policies, and procedures.

  • Support year-end processes, including W-2 preparation, reporting, and compliance activities.

  • Assist with benefits administration and open enrollment processes as needed.

 Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll administration, with a strong understanding of HRIS systems and processes.

  • Technical HRIS Reporting experience in UKG including payroll reporting, year end and reporting request from the business to drive decisions. 

  • Experience with managing payroll for a large employee population, preferably in a multi-state or national organization.

  • Working knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • HR/Payroll certification (e.g., CPP, PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred but not required.
