Job Description:

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations of a growing manufacturing company. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close activities, preparing account reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting and analysis efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to contribute in a hands-on environment where continuous improvement and teamwork are highly valued.

Worksite Location:

This onsite position is located in the Minneapolis Metro Area.

Salary Range:

$75,000 - $85,000/year base salary.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
  • Assist with inventory accounting and manufacturing-related financial reporting.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with sales and use tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare schedules and support documentation for annual audits.
  • Assist with financial analysis and special projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience preferred.
  • ERP system experience preferred.
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
