Interim Payroll Analyst

Calling all Payroll specialists to take a look at this exciting new role! This Interim Payroll Analyst opportunity is ideal for a detail oriented payroll professional who thrives in fast paced, high volume environments. You’ll play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance while supporting a complex, multi entity operation. The Interim Payroll Analyst will support end-to-end payroll processing across a large, multistate and potentially global workforce. This role will focus on payroll execution, compliance, tax reporting, and reconciliation, while partnering closely with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll operations. The consultant will bring strong analytical skills and payroll expertise to help manage a high?volume environment and support ongoing operational needs.

Worksite Location: Hybrid – Minneapolis, MN

Salary Range: Hourly rate between $40-$55, DOE

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Process full cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including regular pay, overtime, and adjustments
  • Review and audit timecards, wage calculations, and payroll data for accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations
  • Manage payroll tax calculations, filings, and reconciliations
  • Partner with HR and payroll team members to resolve discrepancies and employee inquiries
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, reporting, and documentation
  • Support general ledger reconciliation and payroll-related accounting processes
  • Coordinate with third party vendors for tax filings, notices, and remittances
  • Prepare payroll reports, including headcount and wage summaries
  • Assist with system updates, tax registrations, and process improvements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in full cycle payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets
  • Experience in high volume, deadline driven environments
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Experience working with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar) preferred
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally with HR, finance, and payroll teams
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
