Corporate Benefits Manager

In this exciting and high-impact role, you'll lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of a Total Rewards program that includes health and wellness plans, executive perks, workers' compensation, defined-benefit contribution plans, retirement offerings, leave policies, and more. You'll ensure everything runs smoothly, stays compliant, and is communicated in a way employees actually get (and appreciate!).

Worksite Location: This role is hybrid, but travel to onsite is required. There are two office locations in the Minneapolis metro area. The successful candidate can reside in a western rural suburb or south / southwest metro.
Salary Range: $100K - $130K/yr base salary + 20% bonus

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and administration of all benefits programs including health, retirement, wellness, leave of absence, and workers’ compensation
- Oversee open enrollment processes, renewals, and ongoing program evaluation
- Manage vendor relationships including brokers, insurance providers, and investment partners
- Conduct RFP processes and evaluate benefit offerings to ensure competitive and strategic program design
- Perform cost analysis and benchmarking to guide program enhancements
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including reporting, audits, and non-discrimination testing
- Partner cross-functionally with HRIS, Accounting, and Safety teams to support reporting, audits, and compliance initiatives
- Lead benefits communication strategy, developing clear and engaging materials across multiple channels
- Analyze utilization data and employee feedback to improve program effectiveness and engagement
- Support workplace safety reporting and regulatory requirements as needed
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 5–7+ years of experience managing benefits programs, including health and welfare, retirement, and leave programs
- Strong understanding of HR practices and benefits administration
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations impacting benefits programs
- Experience interpreting and ensuring compliance with laws, policies, and procedures
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex information clearly
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR/benefits systems
- Experience working in a union environment (preferred)
